Miami 1957

This was my first adult place to live on my own at age 16. I was one brave child on this journey I had to travel.

I made many friends especially the landlady. She was a dear intelligent woman. Her husband ran off with one of the maids. Life can be difficult.

I purchased peanut butter, bread and bleach. I was going to have a good sandwich and a clean environment.

I found a job as a waitress in a chain of restaurant. I did very well considering I was a child on my own. I went to night school for my high school equivalency exam...which I got many years later before I became a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines.

Just a thought about my youth. No cheer leading and a healthy high school experience for me. I had to make my own way in this world...as we all do.
